At 12PM (CT) the APMEX precious metal prices were:

  • Gold price – $1,395.00
  • Silver price - $29.43
  • Platinum price - $1,698.90
  • Palladium price - $752.50

COMMENTARY: The precious metal markets remain upbeat despite giving back some of the early morning gains. Although not reflected in today’s activities, some technical analyst state that gold may beat silver in the near term based on their current price ratios. The big factor in the market today remains China’s decision not to raise interest rates. Both stocks and commodities are showing significant gains.

Gold spot price was up $9.80 – Silver spot up 82 cents – Platinum spot price is up $22.00 – Palladium price is up $19.40
