METALS LOOK FOR DIRECTION AS INVESTORS PREPARE FOR FED MEETING

Precious Metal prices are trading relatively flat during morning trading hours returning from the weekend.  The Federal Reserve begins its highly anticipated two-day policy meeting Wednesday, where investors expect clarification on whether the Fed will begin to raise interest rates this month or wait until a later date. ActivTrades chief analyst Carlo Alberto de Casa said, “A non-rate hike in September could give a temporary respite to Gold.”

Stocks around the world are on the decline and trading lower Monday as weary markets continue dominating investor sentiment. With Chinese growth slowing and oil and energy prices dropping, investors are looking for direction. Mark Luschini, chief investment strategist at Janney Montgomery Scott in Philadelphia, stated, “The uncertainty is so high in regard to the [Federal Reserve] announcement ... it leaves investors a little bit paralyzed relative to what to do in anticipation thereof.”

At 12:05 P.M. (ET), the APMEX Precious Metals spot prices were:
