MARKETS QUIET AHEAD OF SURPRISE FED SPEAKER

Precious Metal prices are on the decline during Monday morning trading hours as investors await a much-anticipated Federal Reserve speaker, Lael Brainard’s comments at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.  Many are anticipating Brainard’s comments to hint at a potential interest rate hike later this month.  Although many see the Fed having a hawkish tone, some strategists believe the Fed has missed its chance to raise rates.  Quincy Krosby, market strategist at Prudential Financial said, “Most of the market believes the Fed lost their natural chance to raise rates. Market participants believe the Fed lost that chance and perhaps is now trying to make up for lost opportunity.”

As investors continue to take in the landscape and prepare for their next move, markets around the world are continuing to be on the decline.  The last few years have left central banks around the world attempting to come up with ways to stimulate their economies.  However, due to the lack of recovery, some are beginning to see a shift in investor mindset.  Deutsche Bank's annual report informed their clients, “We're about to see a reshaping of the world order that has dictated economics, politics, policy and asset prices from around 1980 to the present day. Extrapolation of the last 35 years could be the most dangerous mistake made by investors, politicians and central bankers.
