THE MOST TRADED PRECIOUS METAL

Wall Street Survivor says that Silver has maintained a positive market demand as an investment, currency, and store of value for thousands of years. In addition to that, his Precious Metal also features in the stocks exchange as a traded product. So why should you add Silver to your collection? For starters the supply and demand categories for Silver contribute to its unique characteristics, and the metal also has been in existence for thousands of years as a currency and medium of exchange. Furthermore, Silver can be invested in its physical nature or as an Exchange Traded Fund (ETF). Although increased demand may categorize Silver as a risky investment, experts indicated that industrial applications are increasing at a very high rate which means that the susceptibility of a slow-moving market will not cause negative effects on the commodity. In conclusion, Investing in Silver coins and bullion is a favorable way to hedge against inflation and other financial market changes.

MINING THE GOLD

It’s no secret that the Precious Metals market has been all over the place, especially Gold. After three years of declines, Gold has climbed nearly 20 percent to approximately $1,225 even with the doubts regarding the pace of U.S. interest rate increases and global political uncertainty. Dividend yields at Gold mining firms have been rising steadily this year as cash-flushed companies recover from last year's Gold price lows, and some investors expect more to come. "Over the next couple of years I hope to see them get their yields up to something that is competitive with the broader dividend-paying stocks that are out there," said Joseph Foster, portfolio manager at Van Eck Associates of New York. However, some large Gold mining companies remain wary about resuming dividends while debt levels remain high and asset sales are in progress.

IS THE MARKET ON A RISE?

According to Barbara Kollmeyer, with Markets Reporter, the U.S. stocks edged higher on Thursday as an improving economic picture and greater clarity on Federal Reserve policy allowed the market’s postelection uptrend to continue. “An interest-rate hike could come relatively soon, further underlining expectations a rate move could come at the central bank’s December meeting,” said the Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen. However, since the unexpected election of Donald Trump that clearly put a bit of uncertainty into economic outlooks, some investors are expecting a delay. The chief investment officer at Lenox Wealth said, “Recent economic data has suggested the economy is improving and that the Fed is likely to raise rates next month. We think that’s the right move given how strong labor markets have been…” According to the latest economic data, jobless claims fell more than expected in the latest week, dropping to a 43-year low. With that being said, Consumer inflation rose at the fastest rate in six months in October, which could make an interest-rate increase more likely, even though the spike stemmed largely from more expensive gasoline.
