At 12PM (CT) the APMEX precious metal spot prices were:

  • Gold price - $1,394.40
  • Silver price - $26.74
  • Platinum price - $1,766.40
  • Palladium price - $688.20

 

COMMENTARY: Today's active market is an extension of heavy trading and upward price movement,that has been in play all week. Gold began the morning slightly down and then soon shot up, approaching $1400 before backing down to its current level, which is up $10.10 for the day. Silver approached  the magic $27 mark before moving to $26.74, which is up 66 cents for the day.Platinum is up $10.50 and Palladium continues to show strength up $11.40.
