Krugerrand Series
First introduced in 1967, the 1 oz Krugerrand was the world's first modern Gold bullion coin in the world and this Gold bullion coin series is still a favorite of collectors and investors today. In 1980 three other sizes were introduced which included the 1/0 oz Krugerrand. The Krugerrand were minted to assist in promoting South African Gold to the international markets. Krugerrands were never assigned a face value but were designed to derive their value from the price of Gold at the time they are traded. The Gold Krugerrand is prized around the world, with a highly sought-after design inspired by history. They feature the South African Republic's first president, Paul Kruger. On the reverse, a springbok, which is the national animal, and the date of minting appear. On the Krugerrand Gold coin, the springbok seems to be jumping into action, while President Kruger is a reminder of 19th century South African political and military affairs.

South African Mint
The South African Mint manufactures Proof Krugerrand, and works with the Rand Refinery to mint the bullion Krugerrand. The mint produces coins on behalf of and is a wholly owned subsidiary of the South African Reserve Bank. In 1886, Gold was discovered near the Wilwatersrand area of Johannesburg and President Paul Kruger decided to establish a national mint. Today, the South African Mint is one of the world's top exporting mints.

With 1/10 oz Gold Krugerrands, build a collection of Precious Metals coins featuring antelopes.

The springbok antelope on Gold Krugerrands is one of the more iconic images depicted on any Gold coins, more so than any other coins that feature antelope imagery. In addition to these 1/10 oz Gold coins, APMEX also has available the 1 oz Silver Pronghorn coins from the Royal Canadian Mint’s Wildlife Silver coin series which make great companion pieces to Krugerrands. After purchasing fractional Gold Krugerrands, consider the 1 oz Silver Berrendo coins which also feature the image of an antelope. Alongside South African Gold Krugerrands, these other antelope-themed coins both look beautiful and have the makings of a strong collection.

Buy 1/10 oz Gold Krugerrands to add balance to your investment portfolio.

1/10 oz Gold Krugerrands are popular among many investors because they are known to add balance to an investment portfolio. 1/10 oz Gold coins, like many Gold coins, are typically held for more than three years, so the historical performance of Gold becomes more important than the current price of Gold. While the price of fractional Gold Krugerrands and other Gold bullion may fluctuate, Gold usually moves independent of the stock market. Many consider South African Gold to be a smart investment because of this low correlation it has with other assets.

These Gold Krugerrands contain 1/10 oz of Gold plus a small amount of Copper, giving them both their distinctive color and durability.

Classic design Krugerrand. I purchased a circulated coin and the condition wasn't great but wasn't horrible either. Easy way for me to get into gold.

Received current year

I bought 10 of these — received all 2023 dated coins (current year). I was expecting some older coins in the mix; nevertheless, all were in good condition. These are pretty small — very close but ever so slightly smaller to a dime in size. It is kind of fun stacking them if you have more than 1. I kind of like the 1 OZ a little better (it is more substantial). My initial reaction to these 1/10 oz is that they are pretty small (emphasis on small). Although if you get the 1/10 oz coin stacker and start stacking them, they are a little better :-). You just need to stack them. I give this 4 stars as the 1 Oz is a superior coin in my opinion and the 1/10 oz is indeed pretty small.
