The Australian Silver Kookaburra series from the Perth Mint began in 1990 and is the longest-running bullion program from the mint. Each year has a different design of a kookaburra on the reverse.
The laughing Kookaburra is the largest member of the kingfisher species, and a bird synonymous with the Australian bush. This bird species is indigenous to Australia and is known for their call, which is said to sound like echoing human laughter.

That is one huge coin! It arrived in great condition (including the capsule). I suspect it is a bit harder to sell that smaller coins, but still a great coin to enjoy.

The actual coin inside the capsule is very nice. But sadly, this is the second time that my coin is enclosed in a poor condition capsule. I'm glad that it happened to me earlier in the year, because I went and bought 5 kilo capsules. So, when I saw that it was all scratched up, I simply replaced the capsule. The capsule was all scratched up with rub spots all over it.

Great coin to collect. The premium rises very quickly over spot prices. Bought and sold many of these Kilo coins. Its fun to ask someone for change of a $30 and see the look on their face when you show them the coin
