New 2021 Gold Eagle Design
The United States Mint unveiled the new reverse designs for the 2021 American Eagle Gold coins. 2021 marked the 35th anniversary of the American Eagle coin program, and the new designs began appearing on these coins in mid-year 2021. Mint Artistic Infusion Program (AIP) designer Jennie Norris created the new Gold coin design that was sculpted by Mint Medallic Artist Renata Gordon. The new reverse design depicts a bold, up-close portrait of an eagle. The obverse has been revised with additional detail from the original design by Augustus Saint-Gaudens to enhance this classic image.

The pictures don't do this Eagle justice. The 3D "engraved" eagle head that changes dramatically with lighting is incredible. Do yourself a favor and grab an air tite easel to display this in your safe. I'll be back for many more. Thanks!

Wasn’t sure about the new design at first, but it’s growing on me. In my opinion the new silver eagle design has been turning out some sub-par coins, but the gold eagles are a completely different story. The eagle head on the reverse looks great in person. Also Lady Liberty looks sharper than the original design (which is the exact opposite case with the silver eagles). The quality control seems on point, and the new reed notch security feature doesn’t detract from the good looks of the coin. And as always this coin is incredibly easy to sell if needed for an emergency. If you’re a fan of gold eagles, this coin doesn’t disappoint.
