2023-(W) American Silver Eagle MS-69 NGC – Early Release
The initial Silver Eagle design, launched in 1986, was not the first time it was used in circulation. Weinman's Walking Liberty design was released during a period of time in which American coinage beauty was missing. The design was an instant hit with the general population as a reminder of American attitudes and patriotism. The American Eagle coin's obverse design is Adolph A. Weinman's full-length figure of Liberty in full stride, covered in folds of the flag, with her right hand stretched out and branches of laurel and oak in her left.
In 2021, a new reverse design was revealed - bringing about much attention to the series due to it being the first redesign in the series ever. U.S. Mint AIP Designer Emily Damstra developed the new design for the 35th anniversary year, which was then sculpted by Mint Medallic Artist Michael Gaudioso. The new Silver Eagle design illustrates a single eagle coming in for a landing, carrying an oak branch as if to add it to a nest. The design is featured on the 2023 Silver Eagles as well to add to the famed American Eagle legacy.
NGC Certified Early Release Silver Eagles
NGC, or the Numismatic Guaranty Company, is a third-party grading system with over 30 years of credit worthy experience in grading and certifying coins. NGC adds desirability by grading the condition of a coin before encapsulating it in a protective holder to maintain the condition.
