American gold eagles are the most recognized gold bullion in coin world. The design hearkens back to the the days of the Saint Guadens double gold eagle with its obverse design paying tribute to the Saint Guadens double gold eagle. The design of the American Gold eagle is what made me want to get one and I was so glad Apmex had some 1/4oz proof ones with abrasions to allow me to purchase one at a good price. I received a 2012 that had toning, which is damage, yet it still looked BU even with the toning. If Apmex had more of these coins, I’d would definitely pick up more of these amazing coins.
