Minted by the United States Mint, this one troy oz .999 fine silver coin bears the top MS-70 grade from PCGS, signaling perfection under magnification. Its First Day of Issue designation confirms it was purchased within the first 24 hours of release, boosting its collectability and historical value.
Coin Highlights:
- Struck from 1 oz of .999 fine silver, offering both intrinsic value and legal tender backing.
- Achieves MS-70 grade from PCGS, ensuring no visible imperfections and flawless surface and luster.
- Designated First Day of Issue, marking it as one of the first coins released directly from the Mint.
- Obverse: Showcases Weinman’s iconic Walking Liberty, depicting Lady Liberty draped in the American flag as she strides toward the sunrise.
- Reverse: Features Emily Damstra’s 2021 redesign—an eagle descending with an oak branch in its talons, symbolizing American strength and continuity.
American Silver Eagle Design
Weinman's Walking Liberty design first appeared on U.S. half dollars from 1916 to 1947 and was revived in 1986 to evoke timeless elegance and patriotism. The reverse by Emily Damstra, introduced in 2021, replaced the previous heraldic motif with a modern depiction of an eagle descending with an oak branch—adding contemporary strength to the series.
American Silver Eagle Series
First issued in 1986 under the Liberty Coin Act, the American Silver Eagle has firmly established itself as the official silver bullion coin of the United States. Its consistent purity, enduring design, and government guarantee make it a foundational coin for both investors and collectors.
United States Mint
Crafted under stringent quality controls by the United States Mint, this coin is guaranteed for weight, metal content, and overall craftsmanship. The federal guarantee enhances buyer confidence and long-term market credibility.
PCGS First Day of Issue Certification
The First Day of Issue label from PCGS certifies that this coin was among the first to be dispatched following the Mint’s 2026 release. This early-release validation elevates its appeal among collectors seeking premium presentation and precedence.
250th Anniversary of the United States (2026)
This coin was issued during America’s 250th anniversary year, adding symbolic significance even though it lacks commemorative design elements. Collectors often value milestone-year issues for their historical context and storytelling potential.
40th Anniversary of the American Silver Eagle (1986–2026)
The 2026 release also marks four decades of the Silver Eagle program—a notable milestone that enhances its collectible significance. Silver Eagles released this year typically attract heightened interest from collectors who follow the series' progressions.

The 2026 American Silver Eagle MS-70 PCGS (First Day of Issue) offers a rare combination of perfect grading, issuance prestige, and historical timing—making it a standout in any collection. I placed a pre-order in the late fall/early winter for 2 of these 2026 MS70 First Strike Eagles and they came exactly as advertised. The label in the plastic tamper proof packaging isn’t very attractive but that’s not very important. The packaging for mailing was great as was the tracking. I’m very pleased with this purchase and only regret not ordering more! I’ve bought many times from APMEX and it’s always been hassle free. I will definitely order from them again.
