Choose 1 oz Gold coins for what is considered by many to be a safe investment.

1 oz Gold coins like these Krugerrands are often considered to be safe investments because they tend to hold their value in both economic booms and downturns. The value of Krugerrand coins is connected to the demand for Gold, so when there is a high industrial demand as in boom periods, the price of Gold is driven up. In downturns, Gold Krugerrands and other Gold bullion usually see an increase in value because Gold typically has an inverse relationship with the U.S. dollar. As a result, 1 oz Gold Krugerrands are considered by many to be a safe investment.

Collect these 1 oz Gold coins along with other animal-themed Gold coins.

While these 1 oz Gold coins from the South African Mint are known by many for being solid investments, they are very popular collectible coins as well. In addition to Gold Krugerrand coins, consider expanding your collection with animal-themed Gold coins like the Perth Mint’s Australian Gold Kangaroo coins, a staple of the Australian mint since 1987. Another great complement to Gold Krugerrands is the U.S. Mint’s Gold Buffalo coin, which honors the famous design of the 1913 Buffalo Nickel. When you buy 1 oz Gold Krugerrands, browse the vast inventory of Gold coins featuring animal imagery to build a collection fit for animal lovers.

The 1 oz Gold Krugerrand, introduced in 1967, was the world's first modern Gold bullion coin and has enjoyed worldwide success.

Nice coin

This is a classic gold bullion coin so I wanted to have one. With a low premium, I bought a random year coin from APMEX and hoped for the best, knowing that a lot of the coins out there are 40 years old and may not be in great shape. I was pleasantly surprised to get a 2015 coin that seems to be in great shape. Well packed (really too much packing for just one coin) by APMEX and another smooth transaction. Thanks!

Pros

  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Easy to Sell
  • Recognized Brand

Cons

  • Common (higher mintage)

I'm sad to say this is my first 4/5 star review for APMEX. I love the coin, and it looks like it wasn't mishandled in anyway in the past. Unfortunately though as I might've mentioned in my other review, this was the coin that jumped out of its cracked sleeve. The coin was shipped with my Silver Quarters rolls and they were just rolling all over the place. When I opened my package, opened the box, then the APMEX box, and then the envelope these were stored in, the coin was just on the bottom smashed by the SIlver Quarters. APMEX usually does a stellar job shipping anything for that matter, whether it be silver or gold. But unfortunately this one was disappointing to mix that much product of both silver and gold in one loose envelope. I feel like that is what caused my coin's less than perfect score. It is definitely still a 7/10 on my scale, but I wish they didn't mix all my coins in one loose package like that allowing the coins and heavier silver rolls to rain havoc on my gold. The Krugerrand is something I see myself buying again in the future, solely because of its natural beauty and recognition.

APMEX is Great, Sold many coins to them!

I've sold several 1 Oz Krugerrands to APMEX and they are VERY fair and quick with payment. The price they pay is the current Spot Price of Gold whatever that may be. Then you ship them the coin with tracking and APMEX will send you a Check in the mail. The whole trade is very easy, the check arrived just a few days later, a sale takes less than 7 business days from start to finish. 100% the Best place to sell your gold!
