The 1999-W MS American Gold Eagles are one of the great mint errors (or were they intentional?) of the 20th Century. Appearing during the run-up to the Year 2K, when demand for gold bullion coins was quite high; the estimated mintage on these coins is quite low. The more that you research these coins the more interesting, and desirable, they become.
