Great to continue the Kook Kollection for my grandson. He loves adding to the 'ol pirate treasure chest, a couple of ounces at a time. He knows the routine; have the gloves ready just in case he needs to handle the raw coin. I'm loving this endeavor.

Yeah! that's right , call me Kookoo if you want but when you see these close up and really start looking at the detail, you should see why I gave this review the title I did. If you hold the coin at an angle you can really see the contrast in the finishing; which brings details such as the following; Fence post finish is frosty contrasted to wire shiny to make the wire stand out against the fence post. Grass is raised contrasted to smooth tree in background shiny against a matte finished skyline. Bird feather around head and underneath frosty and soft contrasted with wing and tail feathers shiny and smooth. Great coin, while premium to spot is more than I would prefer to pay for New Silver Coins- the fixed mintage, Australian Perth Mint reputation, beautiful design and good track record of previous years value increase, makes this a must in any collection. I do have to give credit, where credit is due and Eric Taylor at APMEX is the one who helped me see and realize the great value in this one and I thank him for that. As he pointed out the great detail with the wire on the fence post, that originally caught my eye and had me looking closer at these. I hope to be adding more 2016 Kookaburra's while they are still available. Silver around $20/ounce... Still a Great time to add coins...Happy coin collecting.....

my first order from apmex.i usually buy from someone else but i need to get 40 more of these coins my other supplier was out.. only source was apmex. payment acceptance was fast shipping was fast to great experiance. my only beef was that i paid almost 2 dollars more per coin.. but i had no choice.
