1 oz Gold Maple Leaf BU (Random Year)Gold has been used as a commodity for over 3,000 years and gold coins have been popular as a medium of exchange since the gold standard was introduced in the 19th century. Gold Maple Leafs are manufactured by the Royal Canadian Mint, or the RCM, which is one of the leading producers of gold bullion coins in the world today. Gold Maple Leafs are backed by the Canadian government and are guaranteed for their gold content, weight and .9999 fine gold purity.
Gold Maple Leafs are popular with collectors because they contain an extremely high percentage of gold compared to other bullion coins. Their gold value is generally higher than common dates of American Gold Eagles, South African Krugerrands or Mexican Onza.

Great coin. I think BU is a generous description for the coin I received.
There are a few scratches on the surface of the coin. It's not a big deal, just a little disappointing.
