I received an 1865 BB which is a little more uncommon than normal Paris mint. The coin amazes me to be 150 years + old. This is now my oldest gold coin, so pretty excited. Average circulation is pretty spot on. The coin details are all still there but similar to other reviews read, has a bit of dirtiness to it. All and all I am happy with my purchase, but don't expect a very shiny coin. Some people love the old patina.
- Pros
- Value (low premium over spot)
- Attractive Design
- Easy to Sell
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

My 1865 is excellent. Sold as "avg circ", I would estimate close to AU. What an inexpensive way to build a gold portfolio, and own a collectible piece of history as well.

- Collectible (lower mintage)
- Easy to Sell

I cannot Thank Customer Service enough for the years of fine coin choices they have picked out for me. I have been to the competitors and they never deliver as well as the staff at Apmex!! now for the Coin. The coin I received was a beautiful 1868 and is flawless! another customer mentioned that their coin seemed to have been plucked straight from the mint and this coin was no exception. This would be my fifth 20 franc purchase in a month and this coin is my favorite. The reverse is the French Coat of arms and it is truly awesome!! don't be fooled by the low premium the 20 Franc variety of coins does not disappoint!! so feel free to try one for yourself don't be shy!!
