The queen had a long and fulfilled life, rich with history and accomplishments. In WWII she trained as a driver and mechanic in the Auxiliary Territorial Service, achieving the rank of honorary junior commander (the female's rank of captain then) within five months of service. She reigned throughout numerous prime minsters and the historical turbulent hardships of the 20th century, having ruled 32 sovereign states when she first ascended to the throne and 19 at her death through efforts of decolonization. She endured assassination attempts and at times, intense media scrutiny. Throughout all of it, she maintained her composure to effectively lead the United Kingdom. She will be missed.
