APMEX Tamper Evident Packaging
APMEX uses a specialized sealing process designed to ensure customers receive authentic precious metals products. Tamper Evident Packaging acts as a visible confirmation that the coin remains protected and unchanged after packaging, providing reassurance when purchasing, storing, or selling.

After being removed from mint packaging, each Gold American Eagle is sealed individually. The coin is placed into an authentication card made from a non reactive plastic polymer that helps preserve the coin’s surface and finish.

During sealing, the authentication card is permanently enclosed, forming tamper evident packaging designed to protect the coin long term. Once sealed, each packaged coin undergoes inspection to confirm the packaging meets APMEX quality standards.

Direct from the U.S. Mint
The United States Mint does not offer bullion coins for sale directly to the public. Instead, distribution occurs through a limited group of authorized purchasers who then supply the coins to dealers and investors.
