The Austrian Philharmonic Series
Beginning with the Gold Philharmonic first released by the Austrian Mint in 1989, the series was expanded to include the silver coin containing 1 oz of .999 fine silver, and then two sizes in .9995 fine platinum in 2016 and 2018. All releases in the Philharmonic series pay homage to Vienna Musikverein’s Golden Hall and the numerous instruments that are staples in the Vienna Philharmonic appear on the obverse and reverse design. To mark the anniversary of the Gold Philharmonic in 2004, a 1,000 oz version was created, and for the 20th anniversary a 20 oz gold coin was released. Today, many sizes are available in the gold yearly including 1/25 oz, 1/10 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/2 oz and 1 oz, in addition to the silver and platinum coins.
Precious Metals IRA
Precious metal products can qualify for a Precious Metals IRA if they meet the minimum fineness requirements established by the IRS. These 1 oz Silver Philharmonic coins are eligible for Precious Metals IRAs because they exceed the .999 fineness requirement.

First year of issue. These coins at .999 are really pure, and I did not receive any with spots (milk spots). The mintage of 7.5 million is mind boggling, but I really enjoy having one. The QC is really good in the Philharmonic silver compared to some of the .9999 silver from Royal Canadian Mint...just seems that the way the Austrian Mint makes their coin's edges, ...they are less "sharp" and less prone to "cut", "gouge", or dig into other coins in the batch. I bought for hobby, so, the premium is not so bad. If you want to get a coin closer to silver's "trading value" that day, APMEX rounds and bars are better "bang for your buck". Basically most people know that, but just in case! Best Regards, Monday2Sunday

My in-laws have the last name of Oestreich. I've always struggled knowing what to get them for gifts until I saw these. I gave them one for their last anniversary and they just loved it. These are beautiful coins and have a personal connection for them. Thank-you APMEX!

I like these as another bullion choice. The ASE and CML are undoubtedly more well known and more seen on eBay, for example, but this coin is very lovely. The minting seems a little more "crisp" than the CML and the slightly chunkier, smaller diameter coin with the non-reeded edge is unique. I like 'em, and they are still a nice ounce of silver!

- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
