The Gold American Eagle - 1/2 oz coin is really beautiful. Ordering them through APMEX was a breeze and their shipping was super fast. Really glad I purchased these coins (2 coins) and looking forward to starting my collection here at APMEX. I like the 1/2 oz size, I've gotten three of the 2015'[s from APMEX. All in great condition, and all with quick shipment. The price on these don't vary much from website to website, but APMEX has great customer service, they will make you happy.

It's liquid globally. I wish it had security features like the maple leaf coins. But I try to buy American. I also like the silver Cleopatra coin from apmex.

With the way things are going within the US at this time, I feel it is very wise for those who can invest a little or lot to do so at this time. These coin are/will be easy to barter with if one see the need. Gold will hold it value unlike the dollar.

I recently bought 1/2 oz. 2015 american eagle and I even bought a protector to preserve the beauty of the coin. But for my surprise, the back of the coin was scratched and kind of scraped. I am disappointed, since I decided to pay more for a 2015 coin instead of a random year in order to get a beautiful coin and this was not the case :(

This was an awesome buying experience from APMEX. I researched on-line sites for months, preparing for the day I would buy my 1st gold coin. Choosing APMEX is a no brainer if you do your homework. I have a 1/10 & 1/4 oz gold eagle and really wanted a 1/2 oz and still really want a 1 oz AGE. And i am very pleased with the 1/2 oz. It's is obviously got more heft than the smaller coins so its a delight to hold compared to smaller sizes. I like the coins just to hold and admire sometimes, i think their beautiful. Too bad they cost so much. Going forward I will probably stick to 1/10 oz to add to my collection but saving and splurging on the 1/2 oz was worth it.
