I am older and its easy to see the date on this coin. I cannot read the date on a $5 gold american eagle coin. China makes nice panda coins. I usually buy american coins though.

This coin is a no brainer for me. I like the fact that it comes in the government sealed plastic ensuring there haven't been a bunch of grubby paws all over it. All previous years appreciate in value which make paying the small premium over a maple leaf easy to swallow.
- Pros
- Attractive Design
- Collectible (lower mintage)
- Recognized Brand
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

No matter if you buy a gold Chinese panda or a silver Chinese panda the appreciation in value will never let you down, unlike the Eagle and the Mapleleaf, Chinese pandas change every year featuring different pandas. The eagle and the Mapleleaf are the same year after year kind of boring ,also the Chinese panda is 24 karat
- Pros
- Value (low premium over spot)
- Attractive Design
- Collectible (lower mintage)
- Easy to Sell
- Mint Condition
- Recognized Brand
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
