is one of the least chemically reactive materials known. That explains its importance in applicatons like catalysts etc. The abundance of platinum is roughly the same as of gold, but only few of the platinum deposits can be mined economically. Less than 200 tons of platinum is mined every year of which 80% is mined in South Africa. It is amazing that platinum can be bought occasionally below the price of gold. The platypus coin under review is very pretty, made with great attention to detail and selling at a very reasonable premium over spot. As usual, Apmex did an excellent job delivering the coin quickly and in excellent condition. Thank you!
