The African Penguin
The African Penguin is a rare and endangered species. African Penguins need to be fast swimmers to catch their variety of food they enjoy in the wild including sardines, anchovies, and even squid and crustaceans. They have a big appetite - sometimes eating up to one pound of food a day, which is 14% of their body weight according to the San Diego Zoo. There are only about 52,000 African Penguins left in the wild, making these seafood-loving birds endangered.
