$2.00 Federal Reserve Notes
APMEX offers a fine selection of $2.00 Federal Reserve notes, issued from 1976 to date. Federal Reserve notes are the small sized paper currency still used in the U.S. today. Once printed in denominations of $1.00 through $10,000, now $100 is largest denomination printed in these notes. Federal Reserve notes are the country’s only form of paper money issued since the mid-1960s.The face of the $2.00 Federal Reserve Note features a portrait of Thomas Jefferson. The back of the $2.00 Federal Reserve Note features a reproduction of the painting The Declaration of Independence by John Trumbull.
Collectors looking to take the next step up and collect bills that are no longer in production should consider U.S. $500 dollar bills. These were discontinued in $500, although they interestingly remain legal tender today.
