United States Notes

APMEX offers a fine selection of Red Seal United States Notes. Issued between 1928 and the 1960s, Red Seal notes were backed only by the credit of the U.S. government. Despite that fact, they were issued at a time when money was redeemable for Gold or Silver. These notes had a red treasury seal and red serial numbers. Red Seal notes were issued in $1.00, $2.00, $5.00 and $100 denominations.
Currency enthusiasts interested in more modern options from the United States may want to consider $500 dollar bills. No longer in production, but still technically legal tender, these are popular with collectors.
