$5.00 Federal Reserve Notes

APMEX offers a fine selection of $5.00 Federal Reserve Notes, issued from 1928 to date. Federal Reserve notes are the small sized paper currency still used in the U.S. today. Once printed in denominations of $1.00 through $10,000, now $100 is largest denomination printed in these notes. Federal Reserve notes are the country’s only form of paper money issued since the mid-1960s.

The face of the $5.00 Federal Reserve Note features a portrait of Abraham Lincoln. The back of the $5.00 Federal Reserve Note features a vignette of the Lincoln Memorial.

Collectors more interested in bills that are no longer actively in production may want to consider the U.S. $500 Federal Reserve Notes instead. These are popular as they are the lowest denomination of modern American paper currency that is not being printed. These notes were discontinued in 1969.
