2022 American Gold Eagles
To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the American Eagle coin series in 2021, a new design was released to give the series an updated look. The Type 2 design was created by U.S. Mint AIP Designer Jennie Norris and sculpted by Mint Medallic Artist Renata Gordon. The reverse design transitioned from the original depiction of an eagle coming in for landing in a nest with baby eagles to a detailed close-up of the American Bald Eagle.

The MintDirect® Assurance
To ensure our customers receive only tubes that have remained unopened from the U.S. Mint, APMEX created a process to guarantee these Gold Eagles are straight from the U.S. Mint to you. The MintDirect® symbol is your guarantee that your Eagles were taken directly from the sealed "Monster Boxes" as they were delivered.

APMEX uses a special machine where the mint tubes are placed on the conveyor belt where the sealing process seals both ends with tamper-evident packaging. If this tube has been opened in any way you will know it. After the process is completed, the tube is removed from the machine and then checked to ensure the quality of the packaging meets our exacting standards. Once completed the MintDirect® tubes are stored back in the vault until they are ordered by our customers. By using this process APMEX can guarantee the coins you receive are in exactly the same condition and packaging as they were when they left the United States Mint. You now have a finished tube of MintDirect® 2022 1 oz Gold American Eagle coins.
