2022 1 oz Silver Discovering Dinosaurs: Mercury’s Horned Face
The Mercuriceratops Gemini, a relative of the more well-known Triceratops, is a recently discovered horned dinosaur species found in a rock formation in Alberta’s Dinosaur Provincial Park in Alberta, Canada. One of the first things you will notice about this ceratopsid is the bony, wing-like protrusions on its head. Believed to have lived between 83.5 to 70.6 million years ago, this herbivore is believed to have reached lengths around 20 feet and weighed around 4,500 pounds.

Engraved on this Silver coin’s reverse is the skull fossil, especially striking against the black rhodium-plated “rock” background, which pays tribute to the discovery that yielded another piece of Canada’s prehistoric past.
