UBISOFT®
In 1986, the five Guillemot brothers created UBISOFT® in France. It started quickly acquiring publishing deals with companies like Electronic Arts and LucasArts, and they soon served as the exclusive distributer in France. The company’s reach expanded to Europe and the United States, and in the mid-1990s they achieved mainstream success with the launch of their game Rayman. This game is still considered the best-selling Playstation game of all time in the United Kingdom. Assassin's Creed®
First launched in 2007, the Assassin's Creed® franchise includes 12 main installments and 17 spin-offs. Assassin's Creed Valhalla was their most recent release in 2020. The games are traditionally open-world action and adventure stealth video games that focus on the conflict between the Templars and the Order of Assassins in different time periods. The franchise is known for its combination of fiction and actual historical events and people.

Gameplay
Players view characters in the third-person perspective and are given opportunities to explore the open world environment. Combat often emphasizes stealth abilities and hand-to-hand fighting with the iconic "Hidden Blade," while parkour and ninja-like movements are commonplace in combat and otherwise.

Premise
In the game, players access the characters and story in historic time periods through modern day technology called the Animus, which was created by the fictional corporation, Abstergo Industries that fronts for the Templar Order. The machine allows players to view memories of the modern character’s assassin ancestor, which is where the bulk of the gameplay takes place. The present day Templars developed this technology to learn more about the Assassins and the Pieces of Eden for their own benefit. The ancient Isu crafted the Pieces of Eden to take complete control over humanity, making the Pieces of Eden highly desirable for the Templars. It is up to the Brotherhood of the Assassins to stop the Templars and save humanity from their desire for power.
