Germania Mint Linden Leaf
Next up in the popular Mythical Forest series from Germania Mint is the 2022 Linden Leaf. APMEX is proud to offer the release in Silver BU and Proof options, with 25,000 and 500-round mintages, respectively. An extremely limited mintage Gold release is also available with only 100 rounds made.
Various historically important elements are incorporated in the design of the third release of the Mythical Forest series. The linden tree, a symbol of life, femininity and vitality, is associated with Freyja, the goddess of fertility and love. The tree was often planted in city centers as a communal location to celebrate love and peace. Its leaves and flower were used in herbal medicines and were said to have wondrous healing properties. The bark of the tree was said to draw disease from those who touch it, and this wood was also used to create coffins to send those who passed into the afterlife in a peaceful sleep.
The bicephalous eagle (two-headed eagle) is a Roman mythology symbol associated with Janus - the god of all origins, guardian of doors, gates, passages and bridges, the patron of contracts and alliances. Heads facing the opposite direction symbolize the past and the future.
The Mythical Forest series is a flagship from the Germania Mint, following the success of the Germania and Allegories bullion series. This third release features the beautiful linden leaf, and is offered in Brilliant Uncirculated and Proof finishes.
