The U.S. Mint produced the 1 oz Gold Buffalo as its first .9999 fine gold bullion coin. Designed to rigorous U.S. Mint expectations, these coins benefit from significant global value. They have been produced each year beginning in 2006.
The American Gold Buffalo Coin Design
Bringing inspiration from James Earle Fraser's renowned Buffalo Nickel, the Gold Buffalo coin displays the popular Indian Head on the obverse and a buffalo on the reverse side— based on Black Diamond, a buffalo that lived in the Central Park Zoo during the early 20th century. This particular coin brings back a popular design with updated features, offering collectors a mix of beauty and value.
CAC MS-70
The Certified Acceptance Corporation (CAC) was established in 2007 to enhance the standard of coin grading. The CAC’s foremost intention was to differentiate the difference in quality between previously certified coins of the same grade. If a coin meets the high-quality standard the company has established, they complement the certification with their respected CAC sticker.
Starting in 2023, the CAC made the primary certification of coins instead of upgrading those already certified. Choosing a 2024 Gold Buffalo certified by CAC assures it is graded to their thorough standards for quality.
First Delivery
With the 2024 release of Gold Buffalos, CAC chooses select coins as First Delivery. With this description, the coin is established to have been shipped from the U.S. Mint within 30 days of its original launch. The First Delivery label increases the appeal and collectible value of the 2024 Gold Buffalos.
