This 1835 Lima 8 reales was brought to the Philippines and redenominated by the Royal Spanish authorities there. Despite some wear, this coin has excellent detail for its age.

Coin Highlights:
  • 1834-1837 Philippine 8 reales counterstamped on Peru 8 reales issued in 1835.
  • Struck at Lima. Counterstamped in Manila.
  • This coin is in Very Fine condition.
  • Obverse: Republican Undertype. Liberty standing holding a Phrygian cap. Counterstamp. Royal cipher with crown.
  • Reverse: Republican Undertype. Coat of arms with a llama to the left, a cornucopia below, and treat to the upper right.
