This rare Tael, or 10 Lang bar, was made during the early 1800s by silver merchants for use as tax payment. Made from various European silver coinage, these bars have various stamps on the sides.

Bar Highlights:
  • Contains 11.8 oz of .991 fine silver. These bars were made from European coinage such as 8 Reales, Rupees and Piastres.
  • Bars may exhibit scratches and circulation.
  • Individual bars are presented in protective packaging.
  • Obverse: No characters or writing. This side is similar to a trough.
  • Reverse: Convex side. A hand-etched thâp (ten) with numerous short strokes below representing a crude Lang (Tael, Ounce) at the top of the bar.
  • Sides: Chinese characters representing purity, assayer's name, province and/or royal stamp.
