Product Details
From 1912-14, Canada produced Gold coins for circulation, but almost all of these were soon recalled from circulation to finance the war effort during WWI. As a result almost all of these coins were held by the Bank of Canada until recently.

Coin Highlights:
  • Contains 0.4837 AGW.
  • Comes packaged in protective packaging.
  • Obverse: Features King George V appearing in splendor on this substantial coin.
  • Reverse: Displays the arms of Canada within sprays of maple leaves.
  • Sovereign coin backed by the Canadian government.

Protect your coins from fingerprints by adding these cotton gloves to your order.

After these coins were removed from circulation, Canadian $5 and $10 Gold existed almost exclusively in the vaults of the Bank of Canada. In 2012, a mere 30,000 of the nicest coins were selected from this hoard and offered to the public, and over 200,000 were melted for use as bullion.
