Looking at gold coins of the past, one can not fail to notice that most of these coins were a tiny fraction of an ounce, like 1/10 or 1/4 of an ounce. The popularity of one ounce coins of today is a historical anomaly. That is one oaf the reasons why I prefer to buy 1/2 oz coins versus 1 oz coins. Interestingly, one can occasionally buy two 1/2 oz Lunar series coins for less than the price of a 1 oz Lunar series coin. That is strange but true anyway. One more reason to pay attention to 1/2 oz coins. As it has been said many times, the Perth Lunar series of coins is the highest quality bullion product on the market. The premium over spot is not the lowest, but still very reasonable. Although I prefer the pictures of animals to pictures of dead politicians on coins, I admire the Canadian mint which issues many interesting gold coins depicting important historic events instead of animals. The Canadians follow the leadership of France which has regularly issues coins commemorating important historic events not only in French history but also in world history.

"The Male Ram without Spot" ...put your money in something SOLID. This handsome 1/2 Oz Coin is 30.6MM diameter, that's bigger than many popular 1 Oz coins (and size does matter). This Ram is a manly, handsome coin with superb Perth Quality, and it's larger in diameter than a 1 Oz Gold Maple Leaf -amazing! This one is sure to be a collectable.

This is a beautiful coin! I wasn't sure how big a 1/2 ounce coin would be. It's bigger than a united states quarter. This is my first gold coin and I love it. Thanks Apmex!

This is another gorgeous coin from the Perth Mint, and exhibits the attention to detail they are known for. The Perth Mint Lunar series gold coins are larger in diameter than any other bullion series' so their designs really show well. This is certainly the best-looking goat you'll see. Apmex packaging was very secure and the shipping was very fast as usual.
