Product Details
These Series 1928-G $2 United States notes, more commonly referred to as legal tender or Red Seals, feature bold colors and are great affordable notes for a type set. This type was printed in large numbers, but is seldom offered in new condition.

Currency Highlights:
  • These $2 Red Seals were issued beginning in 1934.
  • This note is from Series 1928-G and is in Gem New Uncirculated-65 PPQ condition and graded by PMG.
  • Julian/Morgenthau signatures—Friedberg #1508.
  • Face: A portrait of President Thomas Jefferson.
  • Back: An engraving of Jefferson's Virginia home, Monticello.

Although they are still legal tender, their red seals and serial numbers make them great collector’s items. Add this tough issue to your collection while it lasts!

United States notes were adopted for circulation during the Civil War in 1862 in denominations from $1 through $1,000. The $2 denomination remained when we converted to small size notes in 1928 and continued until the early 1960s when the denomination was discontinued. The deuce was revived in 1976 as a Federal Reserve Note.
