    This Series of 1953-B $2.00 United States Notes are in Extra Fine condition with a few edge bumps from handling. This series had a limited issue of just over 10 million.

    Currency Highlights:
    • These $2 Red Seals were issued beginning in early 1961.
    • Note will be housed in archival quality currency sleeves.
    • Like new notes from series 1953-B in Extra Fine condition.
    • Face: Portrait of President Thomas Jefferson.
    • Back: Engraving of Jefferson's Virginia home, Monticello.
    • Signatures are Smith/Dillon—Friedberg #1511.

    United States Notes were adopted for circulation during the Civil War in 1862 in denominations $1 through $1,000. The $2 denomination remained when they switched over to small size notes in 1928 and continued until the early 1960s when the denomination was discontinued. The deuce was revived in 1976 as a Federal Reserve Note.

I have always had a liking for the $2 dollar bill. it wasn’t as common as all the others. my grandfather and I used to collect them all the time “it was our thing” thank you AMPEX now I’m keeping the collecting going with my family. great stuff will be back for more!
