Theodora Porphyrogenita was one of the most powerful women to ever rule the Byzantine Empire. Gifted with a keen wit and stately nature, Theodora was an able administrator of the Byzantine Empire. She would quarrel with her older sister Zoe, whose natural beauty passed Theodora over for succession and a series of marriage proposals which began a viscous decades long rivalry with her kin. The two woman would quarrel for many years, being forced to work together for political expediency.
