- This coin is the Doubled Edge Lettering variety, meaning the edge doesn't have the inscriptions it's supposed to. As well as being doubled, it's also inverted.
- Obverse: Features the portrait of John Adams facing right with a stoic expression.
- Reverse: Features the towering image of the Statue of Liberty with torch raised high. "United States of America" lines the rim, with the $1 denomination in the field.
