Congress established the American Gold Eagle program in 1986, and it grew to become an international sensation. They are the first investment coin officially backed by the U.S. government.

A record of toughness and independence is symbolized in the art. On the front face of the item, Lady Liberty steps fearlessly into the unfamiliar, carrying a torch along with an olive branch. The reverse side portrays an exquisitely designed picture of the bald eagle, America’s symbol of freedom. Each 1/10 oz Gold American Eagle has .9167 fine gold.

These coins are not available for purchase straight out of the United States Mint. Instead, they are delivered via a well-established community of authorized purchasers, such as APMEX.

CAC MS-70
The Certified Acceptance Corporation (CAC) was created in 2007 to upgrade the standard of coin grading. The CAC’s primary intention was to differentiate the variation in quality between previously certified coins of the same grade. If a coin suits the high-quality standard the CAC has established, they complement the certification with their respected CAC sticker.
