William Shakespeare
Shakespeare is widely regarded as the greatest playwright and poet in the English language and lived during the late 16th and early 17th centuries. His early career is marked by his involvement with the London theater scene, specifically at the Globe Theater, in which he became a shareholder as many of his plays were performed there. Despite achieving success during his lifetime, Shakespeare retired to Stanford in the early 17th century and passed away in 1616.

William Shakespeare's plays are categorized into tragedies, comedies and histories, showcasing a deep understanding of human nature, intricate plots and profound insights into the human condition. His most notable plays include "Romeo and Juliet," "Hamlet," "Othello," "Macbeth" and "King Lear." His legacy endures through the timeless nature of his works, which continue to be performed globally and studied in schools and universities. His influence extends beyond literature, touching various art forms, and his impact on the English language is immeasurable.
