Product Details
The Large Cent was the first cent produced by the U.S. mint. This is the last year of issue for this coin as it was replaced by the short-lived Flying Eagle cent. This is the large date variety.

Coin Highlights:
  • Struck in pure Copper.
  • Low mintage for the final year of issue at only 333,546 coins. For reference, almost every year prior going back into the 1830s had over 2 million coins minted!
  • Coins will come in protective packaging.
  • Designed by Christian Gobrecht.
  • Obverse: A representation of Liberty with braided hair.
  • Reverse: Features "United States of America" around the perimeter with a wreath encompassing the words "One Cent" inside the legend.
  • Sovereign coin backed by the U.S. government.

The large date variety can be distinguished from the small date variety because the 1 in the date will almost touch the neck of Lady Liberty- and the numbers that follow are a slightly larger font. In the small date, there is a more defined space between the date and the head with the date having a slightly smaller font.

Protect your investment in style by adding an attractive presentation box to your order.
