MintDirect® tubes are the perfect way to begin your investment in Silver bullion. Add the 2013 Silver American Eagle MintDirect® tube to your cart today!
APMEX uses a special machine for this sealing process to ensure the products you receive are sealed completely once they are removed directly from the mint boxes. The mint tubes are placed on the conveyor leading into the machine and the sealing process seals both ends of each tube with tamper-evident packaging. After the process is completed, the tube is removed from the machine and then checked to ensure the quality of the packaging meets our exacting standards. You now have a finished tube of MintDirect® 2013 1 oz Silver American Eagle coins.
Once completed, the MintDirect® tubes are stored back in the vault until they are ordered by our customers. By using this process, APMEX can guarantee the coins you receive are in exactly the same condition and packaging as they were when they left the United States Mint.
The MintDirect® process provides you the assurance this product has not been opened, sorted or searched. Click here to learn all about MintDirect® products from APMEX.
Note: The MintDirect® process does not guarantee protection from spotting or tarnishing that normally occurs in chemically active metals, such as Gold, Silver and Platinum.

The reason I purchase these coins was the mint direct process and I love purchasing the American Eagle - They arrived on time and in excellent condition as described by APMEX. Of course, they are sealed and I plan to keep them that way to protect the condition of the coins, so I have not examined each coin.
- Pros
- Collectible (lower mintage)
- Attractive Design
- Recognized Brand
- Value (low premium over spot)
- Easy to Sell
- Mint Condition
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Sealed container--untouched Silver Eagles. These are beautiful coins and I get a few every year. I like having them and hate putting them in the bank safe-deposit box. I keep no valuable coins or metal at my home, so in the bank vault they go... Do yourself a favor--buy a tube (or six)
- Pros
- Recognized Brand
- Value (low premium over spot)
- Mint Condition
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

I opened one of the tubes I received from APMEX to check out the individual coins and found them to be perfect as described. The Mint Direct tube is $10 more than buying 20 loose 2013 Silver Eagles BU (as of 12/2013), which I found to be a good value considering the tube and wrap provided through MintDirect. These are perfect for the "Bullion Coin" allocation of my physical (in addition to "Junk" and "Bars"). Will be back for more...
- Pros
- Recognized Brand
- Mint Condition
- Attractive Design
- Value (low premium over spot)
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

I received two of these rolls in the mail today. One roll was fine. However the second roll had visible discolorations (dark stains) on the ridges of four to five of the coins in the roll. Even with the seal, this roll doesn't match the impression that these coins are in "mint condition". I haven't broken the seal to see how extensive the discoloration is but seems like moisture was introduced into the roll before sealing. In all fairness this was the first issue I've had with about 12 mint direct rolls I've purchased but I worry about their quality control.
- Cons
- Poor Condition
- Bottom Line
- No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The entire purchase process worked exactly as described, and I received everything in immaculate condition. The Mint Direct coins likewise are neatly sealed and labeled in their tube just like in the picture. Price per coin is a little high, but this is just one of those situations where you get what you pay for.
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
