Colonial Coins

Some of the very earliest Colonial coins were struck by the Massachusetts Colony, beginning with the "New England Coinage" of 1652. Oak, Pine and Willow Tree pieces were struck. The Mint was located in Boston and John Hull struck the first coins there. Later, other coins were struck for a number of the colonies - including Maryland, Virginia, New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Vermont colonies. Many significant Colonial coins were struck such as Fugio Cents (suggested by Benjamin Franklin), Bar Cents (which are copies of the Continental Army's Military Buttons), Nova Constellatio and Woods Hibernia coinages.

All products in this category were minted more than 200 years ago, making them highly collectible and not often encountered. These colonial coins would be ideal for any coin collector.
