The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is a federal government agency in the United States responsible for major scientific accomplishments in human spaceflight, aeronautical research, and development that have had significant consequences for our country and planet. NASA was established on the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA), as well as previous government agencies.
Since its inception, NASA has been involved in a wide range of contributions that have impacted the world, from engaging generations with their space exploration and science accomplishments to acting as an autonomous organization that offers cutting-edge technologies on Earth.
About Retro Worm Logo
In 1975, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration introduced a new logo designed by Richard Danne and Bruce Blackburn that would go on to become one of the agency's most popular. The stylized "worm" design, used from 1975 until 1992, is intended to symbolize motion and change by utilizing a red color scheme against an anonymous white background - just as life continues despite challenges imposed by nature or others. The worm design was recently resurrected for special events or marketing purposes, such as when they debuted the booster for SpaceX's Crew-Demonstration 2 Mission in 2020.
