2023-(W) American Silver Eagle MS-70 PCGS
The first Silver Eagle design, produced in 1986, was not the first time it was utilized in circulation. Weinman's Walking Liberty artwork was crafted during a time period in which American coinage appeal was inadequate. The new design was an immediate success with the average individual as a reminder of American beliefs and patriotism. The American Eagle coin's obverse artwork is Adolph A. Weinman's full-length figure of Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the flag, with her right hand stretched out and branches of laurel and oak in her left.
In 2021, a new reverse design was released - giving attention to the series due to it being the very first redesign in history. U.S. Mint AIP Designer Emily Damstra created the new design for the 35th anniversary year, which was then sculpted by Mint Medallic Artist Michael Gaudioso. The new Silver Eagle design illustrates a single eagle coming in for a landing, carrying an oak branch as if to add it to a nest. The design is featured on the 2023 Silver Eagles as well to add to the famed American Eagle legacy.
