This 1778 $8 continental currency has been certified Extra Fine-45 by Legacy. It is a great note from the Revolutionary War era!

Currency Highlights:
  • Housed in an archival quality currency holder by Legacy.

  • Comments: Minor Stain at Bottom Right.
  • $8 Spanish dollars denomination.
  • Face: Depicts a harp with 13 strings with the motto: “Majora Minoribus Consonant” (The larger are in harmony with the smaller).

This note will make a nice addition to any colonial currency collection. Colonial issues preceded the continental notes by many decades, and some are quite rare. These notes are in demand among collectors and rising in value due to the limited numbers printed by Hall and Sellers of Philadelphia. That firm was formerly known as Benjamin Franklin and Hall. Signatures vary by note. Interestingly, you can see pieces of mica that were mixed into the paper to deter counterfeiting.
