Currency Highlights:

- Dated October 1, 1773 with a denomination of 50 shillings.
- Housed in an inert Mylar currency sleeve by PCGS.
- Graded Extra Fine-40 by PCGS.
- Front: Bold red and black ink to deter counterfeiting. Penn family motto "Mercy Justice" and arms to the left.
- Back: Depicts life on a Pennsylvania farm. The warning on the back "TO COUNTERFEIT IS DEATH!" is fairly ominous.
- Printed by Hall and Sellers of Philadelphia, the successor to Benjamin Franklin's printers.

This colonial currency note from the state of Pennsylvania dated October 1, 1773 is a great piece of history. It is an excellent example of paper currency printed just prior to America's independence from Britain. Not many of these notes exist in this condition.
