1901-S $10 Liberty Gold Eagle MS-64 PCGS CAC
$10 Liberty Gold Eagles were originally minted from 1838 through 1907, and again for a final time in 1933. Liberty Gold Eagles were minted at Philadelphia, New Orleans, Carson City, Denver, San Francisco, and (for one year only) at the US branch Mint in Dahlonega Georgia. Composed of 90% Gold and 10% Copper, the Liberty Gold Eagle was designed by Christian Gobrecht with design elements reflecting both the Greek Revivalism and Romanticism styles. The coin features Lady Liberty on the front with rays behind her hair creating a halo effect around her head. Inscriptions include "Liberty" at the top inside an oak wreath, with the year of issue below her. $10 Liberty Gold Eagles are still considered legal tender in the United States.
