Buy Gold coins as an investment, along with Gold bars and rounds.

$10 Gold Liberty Eagle coins have numismatic value because of their age, historical significance and rarity. Does this mean that the Gold Liberty Eagle should not be considered if you are primarily looking at Gold as an investment? Not necessarily. These U.S. Mint Gold coins do have a slightly elevated price compared with Gold bars, due to their numismatic value – but not enough that it should prohibit you from buying them. These Gold coins give you the satisfaction of holding Gold that has history and beauty behind it. And with their Gold content, slight wear and lower premium over the Gold spot price compared with other vintage Gold coins, they can still be a good investment.

Splendid American Gold!!

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I try not to start all reviews with "I have been eyeing this coin and grade for awhile", but I digress. This coin was worth the wait because most of my stacking was European and Mexican gold, due to weight value and low over spot premiums. I must say that my direction hence forth will be in the pre-33 gold direction. The coin was beyond my expectations and is now my favorite raw gold coin to hold ( Thank You Customer Service as always) the coin is closer to AU and is an 1885 S. I would definitely recommend to a friend and as always Thank You Apmex for providing me with quality coins over the years.

A good buy with a fair premium

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I received a 1882 in XF condition, it's an attractive design that commands respect. I'm permanently disabled & it took me a long time to save & eventually purchase one. I feel it's well worth it & in this age of uncertainty, it increases my sense of security against hard times. This coin will be well worth it's weight in gold when the U.S. dollar collapses. Pre 1933 gold coins are a better buy than American eagles in more ways than one & everyone should own as many of them as possible. You can't go wrong with gold.

I received an 1881 and I am guessing it may actually grade as low AU. Very pleased.
